Dr. Stoyan Georgiev Genadiev, MD
He was born on August 18, 1982 in the town of Dupnitsa. He completed primary and secondary education in the town of Ruse (AG "Geo Milev"). He successfully graduated in medicine in 2007 at the Medical University - Sofia. Since 2007, he has been working as a doctor in the Clinic of Vascular Surgery and Angiology at the University Hospital "St. Ekaterina", Sofia. Since 2009, he has been an assistant in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Medical University of Sofia. In 2015, he obtained a specialty in Vascular Surgery. He defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "Choosing a method for treating patients with varicose veins". From 2015 to 2019, he worked as a vascular surgeon at the University Hospital "Uni Hospital" in Panagyurishte. In 2019, he became part of the team of the Vascular Surgery Department at the University Hospital "Kanev" in Ruse, and in December 2022. After a competition, he was elected Head of the Department. Since 2023, he has been a Republican Consultant in the specialty of Vascular Surgery.
He has actively participated in the vascular team for kidney transplantation at the University Hospital "Aleksandrovska" in Sofia (2007-2019). He has conducted specializations in England, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia. He has completed a course in Belgium on the topic: Radiofrequency ablation in patients with varicose veins.
He is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA) and the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS). He is an associate member of the American Society of Vascular Surgery (VEITH). Since 2023, after a vote at the General Assembly, he has been elected as a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian National Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Angiology (BNDESA). In 2024, he was elected as a member of the Management Board of the Regional College of the Bulgarian Medical Association - Ruse.
He has over 100 scientific publications in domestic and foreign scientific journals.
He has made over 30 presentations at domestic and foreign scientific forums, the most recent of which were in October 2024 at the XXVII National Annual Conference of the Bulgarian National Society of Neurology and Neuroscience and in November 2023 at the Veith Symposium (New York, USA).
He has extensive experience in conducting and administering clinical trials, having served as a sub-investigator of 1 Phase 2 clinical trial (2010) and as a principal investigator of 2 Phase 3 clinical trials (2015 and 2024).
